Things you need to know...

No Smoking or Open Flames
Lapping Waters is not just a rental property. It is our family's summer home! We lost the original summer camp home to fire in the early 60's. As a result, we ask our tenants not to have any open flames outside (using the grill is ok of course), and to refrain from smoking anywhere on the property.

No Jet Skis
Unlike regular boats, Jet Skis (and other personal watercraft) are small enough to maneuver into narrow and shallow areas. This maneuverability is part of what makes them so exciting - you can go places that other watercraft can't go, like along coast lines and in small, typically undisturbed places. This means Jet Ski riders are disturbing more loon and other wildlife than any other craft. As a result we do not allow Jet Skis at Lapping Waters. More Loon Information
The Loon Preservation Committee (LPC) was created in 1975 in response to concerns about a dramatically declining loon population and the effects of human activities on loons. LPC’s mission is to restore and maintain a healthy population of loons throughout New Hampshire; to monitor the health and productivity of loon populations as sentinels of environmental quality; and to promote a greater understanding of loons and the larger natural world. While you are visiting Lapping Waters, we hope that you hear and see many of these fabulous creatures! Click HERE to go to LPC's Loon Cam and see hi-lights from prior seasons.
